It has been over a month since I have returned from all our adventures down south and I never could update this thing on all my adventures back home. It was a flurry of a mess, but I made it. With my cat. Who is amazingly good at dealing with strange situations, such as airplanes, trains, and getting dropped a couple of times because people are jerks (aka me).
After slightly getting back into my apartment, I went to Maine and stayed with a fellow LGO Augusta Niles and her momma. We had amazing fun adventures. Here's what they looked like:
Excited for the boat ride
Us in front of the Nubble Lighthouse
Lobstah dinner!
Augusta and her momma
They were both fantastic hosts, so thank you again!
As everyone knows, I started school again, this time at Emerson College, right off the Common. So, my transportation costs have gone down drastically, since I just walk to class (ca' ching!). I'm already having a wonderful time and I feel like I am finally working on things about myself that I truly think I needed to do. Like asking more questions in general, but also more thought provoking ones. I'm currently taking Drama as Education, Qualitative Research (in preparation for my thesis...eeek!), Contemporary Issues, and Boal, or Theatre of the Oppressed. Next semester, I hope I don't have to take anymore education courses, since I already know so much, but I'm still learning quite a bit. Boal is especially great, because it is a type of theatre that I never heard of, or even thought of. Qualitative Research just terrifies me because it's all revolving around my thesis...which is to be next semester...ahhh!!! All in all, I'm learning a lot and enjoying it. Here's a few pictures of those adventures:

Workshopping our workshop
Another thing that I have gotten involved in at Emerson is the Theatre Education Graduate Association (TEGA) and their traveling production, "The Boy Who Love Monsters and the Girl Who Loved Peas". I'm the Outreach Production Coordinator, which means I just contact schools and see if they want us to come visit. Happily, our tour is completely booked. Another exciting aspect is that we do an educational workshop after the show to classrooms that focus on the themes of the play, like celebrating differences and different families. Above, is us going through the workshop. I was a monster at the top. I make a very good monster.
It's been wonderful coming back to Boston and seeing old friends. And Paul came back for his Midstream Review. I got to have him for 2 weeks, which was amazing, and unintentional, but still, I won the jackpot!
Just a sampling of "everything homemade" for Paul's time home. Watermelon water, homemade pomodoro sauce, and blue cheese dressing
His favorite cookie
I got to see my friend Marina, and we got free ice cream! A whole bar!
Another perk to be back in Boston. Cannolis...so many.
Paul went to a wedding. A dapper wedding. I'm gonna have to dress him up more often.
While I went to upstate New York for a funeral. It was gorgeous.
Buncombe stayed home. And glared.
Paul has now flown down to Santiago, Chile and so begins a longer separation. Not too long. He'll be back at the end of October for Interview fest, which isn't as festive as you think. I'm pretty sure all the LGOs are going to be acting like chickens with their heads cut off.
Meanwhile, some us went apple picking. 'Cause it's that time.
With all our apple spoils
Apple cider doughnuts. You are jealous, admit it.
Well, that's about it. I guess I'm going to have to change the blog name to Los Meggs Everywhere because now we have to be apart. But it's ok. We are champs and have done 5 years long distance before. This post may have seemed disjointed, but I do have to write some papers up. I will leave you with a taste of Santiago that Paul sent me.
I cannot wait to be there for a visit. Only 20 more days until I see Paul Meggs again and 70 days until we start our adventure in Patagonia. Not that I'm counting.
Wine and meat. Just a couple of Chile's favorite things.
